April Stats Correction Empty April Stats Correction

Sat Jun 11, 2022 1:10 pm
In reviewing the stats for April we have uncovered an error on Walter’s roster that needs to be corrected. Walter had listed Ranger Suarez as a reliever when he did not relieve in any games, but started all four of his April appearances. Throughout the long history of our league a starting pitcher cannot be listed as a reliever or vice versa. As we discussed on draft day, it is the responsibility of each owner to monitor his roster to make sure that players are correctly listed at their proper positions and that if a pitcher pitches both as a starter and reliever in a given month then the majority of his appearances that month will determine whether he be listed as a starter or a reliever. We were able to make that correction for the May roster in a timely manner, but now we need to go back to April.
After consultation with Ron, it was decided that Suarez will be dropped as a reliever for April and replaced by
Walter’s 4th reliever, Art Warren. Neil tells me this can be done. Suarez will not be listed as a starter for April as he was not listed as one as of April 28. In fact, as of 4/28 Walter’s 5th starter, Kyle Hendricks, was statistically better than Suarez only to drop after being rocked for 6 runs on 4/29. To allow Suarez to now be listed as an April starter would not be fair or in accordance with our rules.
I hope this explanation is clear to all and will serve as a reminder that each of us must check our rosters each month and correctly report the proper position for our players. Thank you.

The suggested change has been made to the April stats.
